Intermediate Fluid Acrylic Paint Class

from $50.00

Now that you’ve been introduced to the magic of fluid acrylic in the beginner class, discover new techniques, specialized tools, and additives to influence your design. With your new skills you can start thinking creatively about other substrates to paint on – wood, stone, glass, tile... the possibilities are mind-blowing! You could even capture your finished painting digitally and print it on fabric in the future, right at Ripples Studio!

The class will start with some information and a demonstration of two new techniques that can be practiced, (in addition to the ones learned in the beginner class). This class will introduce the “Tree Ring” and “Open Cup Pour” techniques. Students will have a wider selection of paints to choose from, including metallics, which they will mix themselves, then use a variety of tools and additives to create their own freeform painting. Wear your play clothes or borrow a smock; invite family or friends, and bring a camera to capture the creation of your painting to share the fun experience! This class can be repeated many times to experiment with color combinations and techniques, getting a different result each time.

Classes require at least 4 participants to run, and a maximum or 10 people can comfortably work in the paint studio. Come by yourself, bring a friend, or a whole group to enjoy this fun and uplifting process. Fluid acrylic painting is a messy, fun and uplifting way to enjoy your time, work with your hands, and connect with new people in the process.

Cost: $50 per person. All materials and tools are included to produce TWO 10x10” or 11x14” (or four 5x5”) canvas paintings. *Paintings will dry in the studio for one week to a matte finish, and an optional gloss spray finish or glass-like epoxy resin finish available for additional cost. Paintings can be picked up at the studio when they’re ready, or carefully packed and shipped by request.

With an adult, respectful children over 5 years old are welcome. Larger groups and off-site corporate group classes are available – inquire for more information.
