Fluid acrylic painting is a fun, freeing and meditative process that doesn’t require any artistic skill, and is open to people of all ages and creative “abilities”. You choose the colors and technique used, then you will literally go with the flow and be mesmerized by the magic that evolves.
This class will start with some information about fluid painting and a demonstration of three basic techniques that will be practiced (“Dirty Cup Flip”, “Ribbon Pour” and “Swipe”). Recipes and information is provided for anyone who wants to continue at home. Participants will use pre-mixed acrylic paints and studio tools to create their own freeform painting. Wear play clothes or borrow a smock (rubber gloves are provided), this is a fun and messy process! Invite family, friends or coworkers, and make sure to photograph the fun experience and creation of your painting. This class can be repeated many times to experiment with different color combinations and techniques, getting unique results each time.
Classes require at least 4 participants to run, and a maximum or 10 people can comfortably work in the paint studio. Come by yourself, bring a friend, or a whole group to enjoy this fun and uplifting process. Fluid acrylic painting is a messy, fun and uplifting way to enjoy your time, work with your hands, and connect with new people in the process.
Cost: $30 per person. All materials and tools are included to produce a unique painting on ONE 10x10 -or- TWO 5X5 canvas, extras are available for $15 if time allows. *NOTE: Participants won’t take their paintings at the end of class. Paintings will dry in the studio for a few days to a matte finish. An optional gloss spray finish is available for $5 per 10x10 or two 5x5s, or high gloss epoxy resin coating for $10/ea. Paintings can be picked up at the studio when they’re dry, or carefully packed and shipped by request.
Class time: 2 hours
Fluid acrylic painting is messy, so make sure to wear appropriate clothing or borrow a smock to wear, gloves are provided. With an adult, respectful children over 3 years old are welcome. Larger groups and off-site corporate group classes are available – please inquire for more information.
